WITC-New Richmond Campus

Campus Administrators return for WITC-New Richmond 40 Year CelebrationLocated in St. Croix County, the fastest growing county in Wisconsin, WITC-New Richmond offers continually expanding services to the community, business and industry.

New Richmond was originally settled in the 1850s where timber drove the early economy. As that resource was depleted, the community continued to thrive as a bustling business center for the surrounding farmland. In June 1899, Wisconsin’s deadliest tornado struck the city, which when combined with the fires that followed, left 117 dead and more than 200 buildings destroyed. Hard work and determination had most of the business rebuilt within six months. It was testimony to the spirit and fortitude of New Richmond’s citizens, and a quality still seen in today’s population of more than 7,500.

For WITC-New Richmond, construction on the present site began in 1976 for a 50,700 square foot facility. Additional classroom and lab space is now provided in the Ag Center, Edwin J. Cashman Conference Center, along with additions in 1992, 2001 and 2002, which brings the present size to 118,385 square feet.

Located in the beautiful St. Croix Valley, New Richmond offers an abundance of recreational and cultural activities. Scenic farmlands, wooded hills and clean lakes accent the amenities that New Richmond offers. The Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area is only 40 minutes away, offering additional culture and recreation opportunities. From culture to education to sports, WITC-New Richmond students can enjoy the comforts of small-town living with the nearby benefits of an urban center. At the center of it all is the college, which in 2007-2008 celebrates 40 years of high quality technical education in New Richmond and the surrounding area.
