Workforce Resources
The Department of Vocational Rehabilitation training grant is used to provide funding to DVR consumers attending college. If you want to be considered for a DVR training grant, you must apply for financial aid by April 15. Applying after that date may cause delays that could negatively affect your eligibility for a DVR training grant.
This federal program provides resources to consumers who have employment training goals that require post-secondary education. Resources are available to pay for items such as tuition, books, computers, classroom aides (but not personal care attendants), transportation, etc.
The amount of your training grant will depend on how much financial aid you get and your unmet need. The training grant amount is up to $4,000 per academic year for a full-time student.
For more information, contact the regional service office that is located closest to the county you currently reside.
